The Christian Gospel Mission’s Statement Regarding the Korean Supreme Court’s Sentence in the Case of Pastor Jung Myung Seok (Jeong Myeong-Seok)

On January 9, the Supreme Court made a ruling in the case of Pastor Jeong Myeong-Seok. The members of Christian Gospel Mission have a firm belief that Pastor Jeong is completely innocent. However, the outcome of the trial was disappointing. We express deep regret that the truth was not properly adjudicated.

There were many problems with the trial process.
In short, religious doctrines, which are expressed in a religious language, must certainly be interpreted and understood from a spiritual standpoint, but the Court disregarded this aspect and arrived at a judgment that seems unjust. Not only that, the public opinion that was formed by the Christian establishment and the media made it impossible for us to expect a fair trial.

They have continued to define Pastor Jeong Myeong-Seok as a heretic and smear his and the Christian Gospel Mission’s reputation by alleging sexual scandals for the past 46 years. However, our doctrines not only offer clear answers to the questions about the Advent, the Resurrection, the Last Days, and the Rapture, but they also allow us to overcome all the limitations of the literal interpretation of the established faith. We, the Christian Gospel Mission members, are the witnesses who have seen Pastor Jeong’s everyday life in reality, and we absolutely believe that he is completely innocent.
Pastor Jeong has had to drink the bitter cup of injustice. Nevertheless, he never ceased to preach this gospel because of his genuine love for Jesus.

The Christian Gospel Mission will take all possible measures through legal action to defend ourselves, and we will make every effort including public relations toward society using various channels and methods to correct the distorted public opinion and reveal the truth.

Without giving up, we will do our utmost and strive to the very end to achieve true victory.
